It was a lazy weekend following a blow out night on New Year's Eve Wednesday. On Friday I lazed around all day doing chores and stuff around the house. In the evening I went out to a party at a neighborhood establishment. It was nice getting the year off to a good start by meeting some new and interesting people. On Saturday, I went to the office and worked on my South America travel journal. I leave for Chile, Argentina and Brazil on January 19 (until February 3). It's all blocked out and ready to post. I'll just update it each day and repost it. All I have to do is add my daily journal and pictures. I also spent the evening cleaning up my financial records on Quicken and loading them into TurboTax. My federal return is done. I did a good job staying on top of quarterly estimated payments so there will be a lot less paperwork this year. The TurboTax state software will be ready on January 8, so I'll be able to finish my Wisconsin return by the end of the week. Then I need to just double check my work when my W-2s and other tax statements come in the mail. I will owe money and will wait to April to file. On Saturday evening I went to Flannery's, which I haven't been to much in the past few months. Just needed a change of pace. I then went to Zim's and met up with friends and watched the football game. I then wandered back to the Third Ward and met some friends at Irish Bar. On Sunday, I got up early to run because I promised to pick a friend up at the airport around 11 am. I got to the airport after the plane had arrived, but ended up waiting a few minutes while my friend collected luggage. We then went to Wicked Hop for brunch and then I went to the office to plow through a week's worth of mail, prepare for a meeting tomorrow and Thursday, and copy my South America travel documents for my admin to keep. I then went to Flannery's for dinner and call it an evening.
Till next week...
