Post-Trip Summary
I booked a 10-day tour to Hawaii and decided to extend my trip by making a stopover in San Francisco beforehand. I walked over 35 miles during my stay but increased my use of public transportation (Uber, F-Line Cable Car) as I tired of walking.
The weather during my stay was outstanding, mid-60s F and sunny the entire time.
I stayed at the outstanding and centrally-located Hilton Parc 55 Hotel at Union Square/Market Street, which was an excellent base for exploring the city.
My weekend stay wasn't exactly cheap. Practically everything cost double what I normally pay back home in Milwaukee. If McDonald's is any indication, a Big Mac, large fries, and large soft drink set me back almost $20. At home it would set my back about $10. It's hard to figure out which came first, the $20 meal or the $20 minimum wage for fast food employees.
Nonetheless, at the conclusion of my long weekend, I was looking forward to coming back to San Francisco some day. In addition, I had adjusted 2 hours out of the 5-hour time difference from my home in Milwaukee to Hawaii, which reduced jet lag substantially.

Having checked off everything on my bucket list, I was content doing very little on my last full day in San Francisco. Rather than mope around the city all day, I opted to simply head to my hotel by the airport in Millbrae and relax there. 
I check out of my hotel at 10 am and headed to the BART station across the street from my hotel and caught the train to the Millbrae station by the airport. Things were going smoothly until weekend track maintenance forced me off the train at 24th St Mission and onto a bus for several miles. Eventually, the bus dropped us off at the Daly City station and I continued to the San Francisco airport. After a brief stop at the San Francisco Airport, the train continued to Millbrae a short distance away. Once I got to the Millbrae station, I hiked 3/4 of a mile to the Aloft in the hotel area next to the airport.

I was able to I was able to check in to my room and settle in before heading out for a long walk around the area.

At the end of the road by my hotel (Millbrae Ave) was a plane spotters viewing area called Bayfront Park. There were many people there with their air traffic radios and cameras taking photos of planes arriving and departing on different runways.

After plane spotting, I walked through the area. It was very quiet but had a large number of Asian restuarants and one very popular restaurant called New England Lobster Market & Eatery that seemed the place to be.
I then wandered back over towards the Millbrae BART station and had lunch at the American Bull bar and grill and did some shopping before heading back over to my hotel for the night.
Day 5 - Monday, June 3, 2024 - Fly to Honolulu

Weather: 74F and partly cloudy
The big day was here. I was on my way to Hawaii from San Francisco. I stayed at an Aloft Hotel across the street from the San Francisco International Airport so that I could get to airport on time for my early morning flight to Honolulu.
I got up an hour earlier than expected and caught the hotel's 5:20 am shuttle to the airport. By 5:50 am, I was checked in and sitting at the gate thanks in large part to TSA PreCheck, which allowed me to bypass a very long line at the airport security checkpoint.

I had a glorious 3-1/2 days sightseeing in San Francisco but now it was time to leave. I definitely plan to come back some day. Good bye San Francisco!
